Walden University Accreditation
Walden University 's M.S. program in Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Master of Public Health (M.P.H.)

The M.P.H. program provides students with a strong foundation in the core disciplines of public health—epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy and administration, social and behavioral sciences, and environmental health. The M.P.H. curriculum then builds upon that foundation by providing advanced training in the theoretical and practical applications of these sciences to community-based health promotion research and practice.

The M.P.H. program is practice-oriented. If you have little or no experience in community health, the M.P.H. will prepare you to work with communities to map their assets and needs. Using those assessments, you will be able to develop and evaluate culturally relevant interventions to promote public health. If you already have experience in the field, our program will build upon your understanding of public health competencies and help you develop new understandings of—and applications to—your everyday practices.

Specialization - Community Health

The M.P.H. curriculum in Community Health assumes a strong multicultural perspective, reflecting the diverse public health client population base. It also fosters an academic environment that values diversity and the scholarship of inquiry and application. Graduates will be able to apply knowledge from the social, behavioral, and health sciences to solve pressing public health problems.
