Master of Science in Civil Engineering

You can obtain your Masters Degree in Civil Engineering through the UF College of Engineering EDGE program. UF EDGE programs are delivered either via streaming video or DVD directly to the student. These are the same courses taught by the Department of Engineering faculty on campus. Courses are supplemented by additional course material and interaction. The degree can be completed in as little as 24 months. The Department of Coastal and Civil Engineering is is ranked in the top 10 in the United States. The UF College of Engineering is ranked as the #1 engineering college in Florida and as one of the top 25 in the nation by US News & World Report magazine.

Applicants for the online master's degree must have:
  • GRE† Verbal plus Quantitative score of 1100
  • A passing FE exam or PE exam may be substituted for the GRE
  • Undergraduate upper-division grade point average of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00
  • If applicable, TOEFL paper score of 550, computer score of 213 (effective Sep 2005, minimum score of 80 out of 120.)‡
  • Three letters of reference from faculty of the university where you received your degree
  • Statement of Purpose
† All GRE scores must come from a single GRE exam. GRE scores from different GRE exams cannot be combined to meet the admission requirement.

‡ For international students whose first language is not English, a minimum score of 600 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required to be excused from English language course requirements.
