Norwich University developed the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program to provide graduates with the tools needed to excel in leadership positions in public, private, and nonprofit organizations. This professional degree is designed to help current and future public service professionals develop the skills and techniques required to implement policies, projects, and programs that seek to resolve important societal problems.
The core curriculum is designed to provide students with the conceptual and theoretical background necessary for those working at the senior and policy formation levels of a variety of public agencies, as well as reflect conceptual understanding expected at the master’s level of education.
The core curriculum consists of six consecutive seminars of six credits each for a total of 36 credit hours. The coursework is followed by a one-week residency and graduation at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont.
