  • Juvenile Justice
    This course will explore and define the important components of debates over juvenile justice in the United States. The characteristics, policies, and problems of juvenile justice are carefully examined. The history and philosophy of juvenile justice, the processing of youths, the detention of juveniles, and the diversion of youths from the juvenile justice system are all included in this study.

  • Minorities & Criminal Justice
    This course offers a historical overview of the intersection between issues of race, crime, and justice. The impact of the criminal justice system on minority groups is the primary theme of all class activities.

  • Drugs and Crime
    This course examines drug abuse and its relationship to crime. Topices include the statistical relationship between drugs and crime, drug laws and courts, drug prevention programs and public policy concerning the use and abuse of substances.

  • Victimology
    This course presents the scientific study of crime victims and public policy responses to victims and their situations.

  • Criminal Justice Administration
    This course covers the administration of criminal justice from arrest to sentencing, and addresses federal and state rules of criminal procedure and laws of evidence as they apply to and affect the constitutional right of due process.

  • Advanced Topics in Criminal Justice
    This course offers current topics in criminal justice studies, and the specific content can vary from term to term. Regardless of the content, this course serves as a capstone course featuring a project agreed upon between the student and the instructor. Each project will require research, report writing, presentations and interactive team work.
